4th of July Wood Style

I think this was probably one of the best 4ths of July ever. We had so much fun all weekend. Sometimes we spend the holiday at Bear Lake, but I think with all the cool things going on around here we might make some new traditions.

Friday

  • Breakfast at Chris & Michelles Falks with all of our NAI buds. Awesome French toast and so fun.
  • Swimming at Grandpa Gordon’s all afternoon
  • Eaglewood Fireworks!! – my new favorite. Watching the fireworks on the golf course with friends and fam. There are tons of food vendors (cotton candy, snow cones), giant blow up toys, and a live band. It is always so fun, and Jacks snuggled up to me and watched them too.

Saturday

  • Kaysville Parade – watched my cute family drive Nick’s hot rod truck. It was awesome because it was overcast and perfect weather. JackJack loved the necklaces that we caught.
  • Big nap at home!!
  • BBQ at papa Bob and mama Carols house. We had awesome food as usual. Steak, corn on the cob, strawberry shortcake etc etc. It is always fun hanging around in the yard with all the kids and playing Ladder Ball.

  • Davis High Fireworks
Here comes Trouble!

My little bub is growing up What our little guy has been up to:

  • Shakes his head no, waves hi and bye bye, and puts arms up for touch down
  • Loves to eat and will eat about anything! Especially cheese, noodles, peaches etc
  • Signs more and all done.
  • Turbo crawls, stands, pushes toys around room, stands alone, walks while holding one hand
  • Plays catch – throws ball and catches it! Loves balls
  • Loves Trouble tries to chase and grab him
  • Likes to “get you” - he does a high pitched battle cry and charges, then jumps on you
  • Really loves playing with his cousins and already has wrestling matches with them. Such a boy!
  • Still sleeps great! All night and 1-2 naps. Sometimes he will sleep until 10:30, mama is SO spoiled!
  • 8 teeth – 4 on top and bottom
  • Books it up the stairs, but doesn’t always know how to go down
  • Gets into everything! Loves to pull things out of cupboards/drawers!

Monkey Birthday

So I have been such a nerd about Jackson’s birthday. I got super pumped and went a little over board. Hopefully one day he can look back at the photos and appreciate it. He would have been happy with a cupcake and a balloon. But I feel like it is kind of a celebration of our family having our first wonderful year with him – and that deserves a party right?

So we had a vintage sock monkey BBQ with our families and lots of little cousins. Monkeys and bananas were everywhere. Monkey birthday cake, cupcakes, piñata, frozen chocolate banana pops, banana splits etc. Jacks was a sock monkey for Halloween and I guess it kind of stuck with me! He reminds me of a monkey with his big round eyes!

It was a really nice day so we hung out in the back yard for cake, presents and the piñata. Jackson seemed to really love hanging out with everyone and was really happy almost the entire time. He did get mad and start to cry when the cake was just out of his reach before we sang to him. That kid is serious about his food!! Jacks got so many fun presents and got really spoiled - THANKS everyone! We are so grateful that we have our awesome families near by and really appreciate those that came!

Whats been happening with the Wood crew...

(HUGE blog warning..)

Well I am either all or nothing lately with blogging! I get overwhelmed because so much is going on and Nick takes SO many cute photos that I want to show everything and end up doing nothing . Go figure.

There goes the Neighborhood..

So the latest news for the Harts is that all of my brothers and sisters are buying new homes! My brother Chris and sister Sarah are moving their families out of our neighborhood. Which is sad, but they are both still going to be in West Kaysville – on to bigger and better things I guess. BUT cool news is my little brother Nick and his wife Erica bought the house next door! It is a darling house and we are so excited for them to get their first place and to have them so close. Hee hee hee our little plan worked…they are stuck with us Woods now….mwaaahhh.

Our new neighbors!

Every year when Spring/Summer comes I love to spend time in my yard. I am so grateful that Nick and I are in a home that we love. We are not going anywhere!! Last year I didn’t do anything in my garden (I was a little busy having JackJack) So this year I actually planted a few flowers and have really been enjoying our yard. We have a little robin family that made a nest right outside our front window. Jackson loves the “bird-as”.

GRADUATION

I could not be more proud of my college grad. It has been a long road for both of us. We have been working and going to school through our entire marriage. It is insane to imagine life with out tests, papers, homework…Weirdness. Nick has especially had to work so hard. I got to work hard learning about art history and painting (which I love). He had to study business finance while working full time. He has worked so hard for our family, and he is a great example for Jackson. We are so proud of you Papa Bear – and love you SO much!

Three Wood generations! I am so glad that Nick can be a good example to Jackson like his his dad was to him.

Jackson is so Proud

Easter

This feels like forever ago. We had a great Easter. My parents have an amazing yard and every year they have a big Easter egg hunt for all the kids. We had a delicious dinner and plenty of goodies for everyone to get sugared up on. My mom and dad spoil us all so much. They got all kinds of candy, clothes and toys for the kids. And some serious See’s Easter chocolates for the grown ups. Nick and I had a fun little Easter for Jacks at home too. He got bubbles, plastic eggs, toys and some great childrens books (my very favorite thing to buy:)).
