4th of J U L Y

The Fourth (third) was great this year. We started out the day at the parade to see my family in the Buick, had a nice afternoon nap, BBQ and fireworks at my parents house, and then off to the Eaglewood fireworks! Jack loved everything and it was a great typical holiday.

Jack Jack loved the fireworks Nick got. He would sit in his one little special spot in the grass and watch Jonny light the fireworks. "fahr woks ucle Jonny!"

Okay so Nick took about a million photos of me and Jack and although the majority of them are uggers, we did end up with a few that I really like.

Recent Art Happenings

The most recent show I've done. I really love the theme Dance Magic Dance based on the film the Labyrinth with David Bowie. It was at R & R Gallery in L.A. and had some really great artists. Ref the sweet flyer or check out the site www.therandr.org/

The triptych I did. "Golden", Mixed Media on Wood

I watched the movie like 4 times while working on this piece and totally rediscovered my love for David Bowie. The Labyrinth was a movie staple for me in the 80s and it is still awesome, rock and roll and puppets - what a combo. My only regret is that I didn't have more time to work on it. I did this piece in like 4 days. Usually I spend more time with my work and stare and change and stare and change... it is a process. So it was a bit of a scramble.

Let the Wild Rumpus Start!!

Jack Jack's Pre-Party

I was too busy working on a wedding the week of Jack Jack's birthday to have the party the day of, but we did want to have a pre-party with our little family and Nick & Erica to do presents and sing. I set out the decorations and Erica brought over some awesome key lime cupcakes. Nick stayed up really late the night before setting up Jack's new train set. Nick is such a great papa bear! Jack was so excited about his choo choos! He has to put them to bed at night and get them up in the morning ha ha. It was nice to do something special for him, thanks everyone for humoring me!

W I L D R U M P U S ! !

My Jack Jack has turned two!! Not only is Where the Wild Things Are one of our favorite books, Jack is such a wild thing we decided to have a Wild Rumpus for him at the family's Bear Lake house. We were a little late celebrating because I was super busy doing a wedding the week of (flowers, decor, etc). The Harts were all up to Bear Lake the weekend after, and we had a bunch of little cousins there so we decided to party then. We set up in my Grandma Harts charming back yard under the apple trees. There were cupcakes, sparklers, ice cream cones, bubbles and of course a wild thing pinata. The kids all love being up there so much, it was really perfect to have a little country birthday party. I loved how it turned out, and Jack seemed to have a great time. Love you little wild boy!
